Can I use ForeverLM in a web browser?
The web app is not available. Download ForeverLM for Mac.
Do I need my own API key?
For the built-in AI, yes: it runs on your own OpenRouter API key, which OpenRouter bills at its cost with nothing added. OpenRouter is the provider supported today. Pay models at cost, or use free models: ForeverLM adds nothing. Connecting an assistant you already use over MCP needs no key.
Where is my library stored?
Your sources, study data, and generated artifacts are kept on your Mac, in a SQLite database and source files, and sync through your private iCloud container to your other Apple devices. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Which Apple devices are supported?
ForeverLM is available for Mac. The iPhone and iPad app is coming soon. There is no Apple Watch app.
Can I answer reviews with my voice?
Yes. In the Mac and iPhone apps and the web app you can dictate instead of typing, and on the iPhone you can talk a source or a notebook through, turn by turn. You can configure speech and voice options in Settings.
What does the MCP plugin do?
It lets an MCP-capable assistant search your library, read sources, plan your Schedule, and run reviews with you. It is optional, and it comes with the app, with nothing extra to buy. See Connect an AI Assistant.
How does Schedule progress work?
A planned source is done when you check it off in today’s list, or when a review grades it. Opening, reading or listening to it never marks it done.
How do I add a paper from behind a paywall?
Download the PDF, then add it to ForeverLM from your Mac. See Papers in the docs for the current workflow.
What does ForeverLM cost?
7 days free, then $19 once. No subscription. Your first sign-in starts 7 free days of the whole app, with no card. After that, pay $19 once, before applicable tax, in Settings → Billing. It covers the Mac, iPhone, iPad and web library, unlimited notebooks and sources, and connecting Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, or Gemini over MCP. AI runs on your own OpenRouter API key, at OpenRouter’s cost. ForeverLM adds nothing. Settings → AI Usage shows what each AI request cost, precise below a cent. Not for you? Ask for a refund within 14 days of paying, no questions asked.
